In the start of the year I decided to leave my previous employer in favor of working full time through my company Keywork Consulting. I’ll work with my own ideas besides offering services to other companies. So far it has progressed beautifully and I hope it will stay that way for a long time. For the past couple months I’ve worked with the skilled people at Dynabyte and Nordic Digital Alliance. I’ve had both interesting assignments as well as a chance to meet brilliant people. Interesting Azure benchmarks available at Azurescope

The Research Engagement team in the eXtreme Computing Group (Microsoft Research) published a benchmark of central Windows Azure functionality related to storage as well as deployment cost and network throughput on Azurescope. The site has best practices and guidelines as well as code samples.

My splendid Alhambra guitar has arrived!

Thanks to a couple very good friends (M for buying and F for delivering) I’ve received my Alhambra guitar. The sound is extraordinary! Unfortunately I play like a six year old so I have to practice and learn notes (think I’ll stick to tabs for now). However, it was so nice sitting down yesterday with Bachs “Air” yesterday (simple version, mind) and playing it like one sixteenth of the original speed. I will master this (ok, sufficiently master it) until the end of the year. Jolly good fun!

I’ve decided to keep my ronnydahl.com domain as a pure personal site and will therefore promote keywork.no as both a playground for my personal projects as well as the basis for my startup company. I have several personal projects in the making and will publish information about these as soon as they’re mature enough. The new domain will redirect to ronnydahl.com until I’ve decided to publicly launch it.

How to integrate LinkedIn through OAuth in C#

In an ongoing project at work I’ve played around the thought of implementing a LinkedIn provider which will be capable of retrieving contact data. Since LinkedIn base their authentication on OAuth I started looking for a good way to implement it. I had no personal experience with OAuth (or the LinkedIn API) so I thought I’d do a quick Google search for “LinkedIn OAuth C# working example”. To my great delight the first result was an article written by Fatih Yasar which describes the howto in shorthand as well as provides a working VS project. The code needs some work, but all in all it does exactly as it promises. Great work, Fatih!
